NSE Requirements Analyst

An NSE Requirements Analyst is a 1099 Contractor that has education and experience that enables him / her to perform functions that support business requirements and processes throughout Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) product life cycles. Please note that this is NOT an information technology position.

The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following functions as requested:

  • Develop broad understanding of defense-related processes and where they fit into the requirements system
  • Assist content teams with creating the project schedule and staying on track
  • Guide content authors, subject matter experts, and teams through content development
  • Ensure requirements set adheres to established standards and connects to parent requirements
  • Maintain requirements traceability linkages and interfaces within the requirements database
  • Prepare and confirm quality of materials for inspections, stakeholder reviews, site impact analysis, and federal sponsor approval
  • Communicate and interface with federal customers, content development teams, and internal team members in Albuquerque and at sites across the U.S.
  • Create and maintain internal procedures and job aids

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Past experience working as an employee or contractor on a defense-related program within the Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Department of Defense (DoD), or one of its contractors
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline
  • 10 years’ relevant experience in science or engineering work
  • Intermediate written and oral communication proficiency
  • Working knowledge / comfort with team collaboration technology (SharePoint, Skype, Outlook, other online or cloud-based systems)
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word and Excel

Desired Experience:

  • Experience working with distributed team members, customers, and stakeholders
  • Experience working with a requirements management database (e.g., DOORS)
  • Certification(s) or expertise in any of the following: systems engineering, process management, quality management, Lean Six Sigma

Additional Information:

  • Work Classification: 1099 Contractor
  • Schedule: Approximately 15 to 20 hours per week (fluctuating based on your experience and program needs)
  • Work Location: During the coronavirus pandemic, all meetings will be virtual and the majority occur on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • US Citizenship: Required for this opportunity
  • Clearance: An active DOE Q clearance, transferable DoD clearance, or the ability to obtain one is required
  • Training: Some on-the-job training provided on the program, processes, and technology
  • Typical Income Range: $70,000 to $90,000/year
